Original illustrated bee The first card was to have bee going to the desert ( near a health spa- see above card and photo below for the inspiration for the card). | ||
This image inspired a desert and mountain scene After creating the first rough card, a palm tree was substituted for the fountain, and a house (at a distance away) was added in the lower right corner. These additions allowed for more skillful use of tools and added more depth and dimension. Postcard image goes here |

GOOD work
ReplyDeleteThis is a very delicate and delightful illustration – congratulations. The wings and fabulously loose and transparent giving the bee a sense of movement – something that is very difficult with illustration. The big orange blob of pollen works in contrast to the feathery hairs on the bee’s back – samish colors yet different texture. Excellent! Don’t like the grey background though.
CONGRATULATIONS! YOUR IDEAS ARE WONDERFUL – WELL THOUGHT OUT AND INTENTIONAL. AS YOU WORKED THROUGH THE=IS PROJECT YO REALLY CAME INTO YOUR OWN AND THE TEXT WORKS WELL. The first image is your least successful and that is usually the case when you start learning different techniques. The more you use the program the better you will get and the more you can experiment with your visual language. The shape in this are a little less refined. Too simple there needs to be more line and shape variety – text is good.
ReplyDelete2. This works well with your night time vision. The way the lights reflect through out the image and your shape size variety finally look cohesive. Your text works!
3. the 3rd is my favorite – your illustration technique really shines here! This is very similar to your first be project and the way you used your tools is excellent! A sense of lightness and playfulness adds to the intent behind the image.
